Program Manager
Overview
The Program Manager role is a senior management position at Yayasan Peduli Kepulauan Indonesia, managing the design and implementation of the Learning for Sustainability Program. The role reports to the Executive Director, and manages the Education Coordinator/s and Teachers.
Location: Bintan, Kepulauan Riau, Indonesia.
Hours: Full time.
Summary of responsibilities
Program Management -
-
Provide leadership and direction for overall planning, development and delivery of the Learning for Sustainability program.
-
Create, manage and report against program budgets, in compliance with organisational SOPs.
-
Develop and implement strategies to expand student registration and attendance consistency, and to increase overall engagement hours.
-
Schedule and conduct regular and as-needed visits to Learning Centres and communities, to support Teachers and build relationships.
-
Establish and monitor teaching schedules to ensure Teachers are supported and program delivery is effective.
-
Seek out opportunities for program expansion in alignment with Theory of Change and organisational strategy.
-
Establish good working relationships with program and community stakeholders.
-
Effectively manage consultants, volunteers and contributors.
-
Be responsible for program related procurement.

Compile monthly and quarterly activity, financial and engagement reports and submit to ED.
Data Collection and M&E -
-
Actively participate in the development and review of M&E framework and impact assessment framework.

Train and manage program team in numerical data collection.
-
Develop and regularly review tools for student assessment and development tracking, and use to complete monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.

Develop and regularly review tools to conduct interviews, questionnaires and collect testimonials and use to complete monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.

Work with external program evaluators as required.
Team Management -
-
Create individual performance plans for the Program Team.

Ensure Program Coordinator/s receive necessary training and support to develop program management skills.

Mentor and coach Teachers to improve program effectiveness.
-
Participate in the hiring process for the Program Team as required.

Read, understand, comply with and enforce organisational policies and codes of YPKI.
Experience, skills and knowledge required
-
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
-
Minimum 6 years of prior work experience with NGOs, with most recent role at management level.
-
Proven ability to plan, prioritise and implement programs and projects in accordance with organisational vision, mission and goals.
-
Proven experience in creating and managing program and project budgets.
-
Expert stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to consult, collaborate and influence to deliver program/project outcomes.

Strong data collection, M&E, impact measurement and analytical skills.
-
Experience preparing reports for external stakeholders, in particular donors.
-
Excellent team management skills, including performance planning and capacity building.
-
Experience managing teams across field locations in a developing context, and a willingness to travel to program locations.

Commitment to child rights, learning and sustainable development.
-
Alignment with the vision, mission and goals of TIF/YPKI.
-
Strong written and oral communication skills.
-
Professional level Bahasa Indonesia and English required.

Additional information
Duration of appointment: initial three-month contract, followed by one year contract with possibility for extension.
Salary: Our salary bands are competitive – salary offers are commensurate with qualifications.
