Program Coordinator, Teacher
Overview
​
The Program Coordinator, Teacher role at Yayasan Peduli Kepulauan Indonesia is responsible for the coordination of the Learning for Sustainability Program and the delivery of classes at designated Learning Centres. The role reports to the Program Manager and provides technical and programmatic oversight to Teachers at Learning Centres, participates in the delivery of Local Teacher Training, and facilitates program stakeholder engagement.
Location: Bintan, Kepulauan Riau, Indonesia.
Hours: Full time.
Summary of responsibilities

Teaching -
​
-
Deliver weekly lessons at Learning Centre/s as per schedule.
-
Participate in the development of lesson plans, activities and projects that build the 4Cs, English language skills and knowledge.

Ensure and maintain a clean, conducive and safe learning environment for students at all times.
-
Organise supplies, including preparing monthly activity budgets and financial advance requests.
-
Ensure all teaching materials and equipment are looked after and in good working condition.
-
Develop and maintain good working relationships with parents and the broader community.
Program Coordination -

Contribute to the establishment of effective program implementation plans, systems and processes.

Work with education advisers and Senior Management to review and update learning units.

Participate in the development of yearly program budgets and events budgets, and other related work as needed.

Schedule and deliver regular and timely orientations and graduations.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with existing and new communities, schools and key networks, informed by reliable and anecdotal data.

Participate in the development of M&E systems and impact measurement framework.

Data Collection and M&E -
​

Socialise tools for Teachers to record student data, attendance, and information release forms and provide support in their use.
-
Socialise tools for Teachers to observe and monitor student progress and development and provide support in their use.
-
Socialise tools for Teachers to compile case studies that demonstrate program impact and effectiveness, engagement with students and community, and events, and provide support in their use.

Socialise M&E systems and impact measurement framework with Teachers and provide ongoing training and support.
-
Record feedback from Teachers regarding successes and areas for improvement of the Learning for Sustainability program and share with Senior Management to improve program processes.
Team Coordination -

Check and revise lesson plans with teachers, providing support through role playing, explanations of techniques and activity suggestions.

Work together with Program Manager and advisers to train Teachers on pedagogy, 4Cs and relevant teaching techniques.

Conduct regular, scheduled, and as needed observations and general visits to Learning Centres.

Advise Program Manager of Teacher training needs and assist in organising and scheduling.

Seek out opportunities for collaboration across departments.
Experience, skills and knowledge required
​
-
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in project management or administration.
-
Demonstrated experience working with NGOs, CSOs and children.
-
Experience in quantitative and qualitative M&E is desirable, but not required.
-
Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple tasks, and deliver to time.
-
Demonstrated ability to communicate with, and influence others, through building strong working relationships.
-
Experience in training and/or capacity building of peers.
-
Proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office tools.
-
A demonstrated commitment to child rights, learning and sustainable development.
-
Alignment with the vision, mission and goals of TIF/YPKI.
-
A passion for, or understanding of, improving learning outcomes in remote small island and coastal communities.
-
Strong written and oral communication skills.
-
Professional level Bahasa Indonesia and intermediate English required.

Additional information
​
Duration of appointment: initial three-month contract, followed by one year contract with possibility for extension.
Salary: Our salary bands are competitive – salary offers are commensurate with qualifications.
Benefits: BPJS, phone allowance and travel allowance.
Start date: September 2021.
