Tintin at Tunas Bangsa Junior High School, Lagoi

Tintin, The Island Foundation's Community Engagement Officer, explains about the Berakit Village Gypsy Sea Tribe to over 30 students from Class VII. They were excited to learn about the sea tribe children who swam, caught fish and even moved from island to island. Teacher Faqih said they were grateful for the cultural lesson and Tintin invited the students to visit the village and learn more about the tribe. The Sea Tribe (Suku Laut) have been around since time immemorial and have strong historical significance to Bintan and the islands in the Riau Archipelago.
